Whole Grain Foods Decrease Belly Fat, Help Lose Weight
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition recently published a study that correlates having three or more servings a day of whole grain foods with decreased belly fat.
Previous observational studies have shown that including whole grain foods in the diet, taken instead of refined sugars, significantly decreases body mass index, abdominal fat and risks for cardiovascular disease. On the other hand, diets that include mostly refined grains were associated with increased abdominal girth and tendency to increase body weight.

Exercise Markedly Lowers Risk for Dementia and Memory Loss
The benefits of regular exercise to the body have been proven over time. Moderate exercise done habitually over many years keeps the body fit, prevents obesity, improves cardiac function, lowers cholesterol, and decreases the risk for many diseases like diabetes, stroke and many more. Now more studies are showing that exercise also benefits the brain, decreases the risk for memory loss and dementia, and may improve cognitive function or thought processes.
More studies show that exercise benefits the body but also lowers the risk of dementia. Regular exercise improves brain function and prevents memory loss.

Seven Lots of Lipitor Recalled
After three reports of “uncharacteristic odor” in different bottles of Lipitor last July 2010, Pfizer recalled seven lots of the drug in August and is continuing to monitor the safety of its products. The lot numbers of the recalled bottles bore these numbers: 0855020, 0819020, 0842020, 0843020, and 0854020, including three lots supplied to a Canadian company. All were due to expire in Jan 2013, and were contained in 191,000 bottles of 40 mg tablets.
