After three reports of “uncharacteristic odor” in different bottles of Lipitor last July 2010, Pfizer recalled seven lots of the drug in August and is continuing to monitor the safety of its products. The lot numbers of the recalled bottles bore these numbers: 0855020, 0819020, 0842020, 0843020, and 0854020, including three lots supplied to a Canadian company. All were due to expire in Jan 2013, and were contained in 191,000 bottles of 40 mg tablets.
